March-April Post!! {sorry it's late}

YHello! How art thou my dearest readers? I am soo sorry that my first monthly post is late!! I tried SO hard but it has been a busy busy month!! So let's get to it...

First thing I want to say is that on the 4th I saw one of the first screenings of Divergent and OHMY IT IS INCREDIBLE. There were a few things that annoyed me because they were a bit different, but I always knew they couldn't get it spot on to the book, it's Hollywood!! I went to see the movie with my lovely friendly friends Charlotte and cling-cling Daisy. We all dressed as our faction would too!! Charlotte was Dauntless, Daisy was Erudite and I was Candor. Also the film wouldn't play at first so they skipped all the adverts!! Result!! But it was such a good day and after the film and Charlotte had left, Daisy and I decided to go into the arcade next door to the cinema. We had £4 between us and ended up winning 1253 tickets. We spent them on a minion mug each and some other junk. I will post a review to the film at some point this week.

Also, my beautiful sister Alice was Christened on Sunday and she took a celebratory selfie.

Also, I was told at school that I was wasting my PE lessons by just reading so last week I went out with my boys (and Holly and Steph) and had a good old game of Hockey. I was ref for the first match and actually played for the second. My bestest friend ever, Rob, is pretty good in goal, so we kitted him up and he looked fab. 😉

I am just about halfway through Insurgent and OHMY IT IS FAB. I'm just worried about what's to come 🙈. No spoiler until the review, when I am finished with it.

Also, later this month, I am planning to see one of my favourites Hope if she can come down from Somerset, she loves books and I will be posting about our time together and discussions in next months post.

Also as I side note, I have a very big exam coming up soon which is followed by my other 10 taking place over May and June so I will not specify dates of posts anymore because I don't know if I am able to fit them in. Thank you for understanding!!

Thank so much for reading chummies!!
Review of Divergent movie coming soon.

Review {Divergent}

WARNING~ Contains MANY spoilers!

I was given Divergent as a gift by my cling-cling Daisy, as I have mentioned before. I'd wanted it for a while mainly so she would shut up about getting me to read it, but wow. I loved it so much I might just cry.

Plot
Firstly, when I heard about the plot for Divergent before I read it, it almost put me off a bit. I thought it was a very similar plot to The Hunger Games but as soon as I read the first chapter I realized that judgment was so so so wrong!! The way that this place is split into the factions and how the factions are all linked is something that really intrigued me throughout the entire story (so far ;D) at some points I found it a bit confusing so I would suggest first time readers to read over that part very carefully; especially the part where the Erudite and Dauntless begin to work together.

Characters
I fell in love instantly with all the characters and their passion towards parts of the story in which they were involved. I found towards the beginning Tris was a bit moany but as I read on I kind of started to understand!
I thought Caleb was fab until he went to Erudite. Lil bitch.
Tobias was fab also and I swear I cried when he almost killed her.
Tris and Caleb's parents are the biggest badasses in the whole book.
Marcus was a wee bit of a wanker.
Jeanine was a bitch and I want her dead.

Writting
The writing itself was incredible. The way it was set out with all the long sentences without breaks for fast paced moments along with the mixture of short sentences is simple, but effective I can tell you!! The following may sound like an English lesson but it's something that genuinely interests me. The lingustic features and language techniques Veronica Roth uses to portray this wonderful and dramatic story of Tris is simple and very effective for readers. Her ranges of both short and long sentence types can build tension, set pace and intend extra information or plot twists and it is a very clever way of writing.

Basically, overall, I loved this book so much!! So much in fact that when I finished it in the school library, I closed the book, stood up, walked to the other end of the library and lied down and sobbed until my friend Frank came over to see if I was okay. I was not okay and I straight away started on Insurgent.

Thank you for reading my first review, I don't quite know how to do an amazing review so I just did most of my thoughts crammed into small categories. Also while reading Insurgent, I am also FINALLY starting Paper Towns. The review will come when I'm finished and the first, now monthly instead of weekly, post will be coming on April 3rd.

Thank you for reading and I'll be back soon x3

FINAL WEEKLY POST?! {20.03.2014}

OH MY GOODNESS I AM SO SORRY.
I haven't done a weekly post for like 2 weeks! I apologise but I have been up to my boobs in exams and school. Boo.

So March so far, well firstly my cling-cling Daisy bought me Divergent at the end of February and oH MY I AM IN LOVE. I'm nearly finished and it makes me so happy! Asdfghjkl I can not recommend this book enough and I hope the movie loves up to it!!

I also got the cutest mug from my lovely bestie Azza :3

I also competed the The UK Rock Challenge earlier this month! I was stage crew and in control of the big flat. Check me out. Our school came fourth which was awesome and we only just missed out in a place to get to the finals, which sucked a little but it was a fab day!! I also took Divergent with me and got some weird looks for sitting in the corner reading!

Anyway! Back to books! Well with the remainder of my birthday money, I went out an bought Insurgent and The Book Thief. I started reading The Book Thief on my kindle but ever since I changed my room around, I can't find it. I never finished the book and shall read it after I have finished Divergent and Insurgent!

I think that's it for this week guys! But to be honest I think as of now, these will no longer be weekly posts and shall become monthly because it's easier with my exams!! Reviews will be coming soon and I hope you have a lovely (what's left of) March!!

Thanks for sticking and reading!

Weekly post 2 {27.02.2014}

So... I know I was meant to  post a review on The Fault in Our Stars on Tuesday, but I didn't. Sorry! I've been snowed under with homework and school and bleurgh.

But in other news, yesterday was my 16th birthday! Yaaay!! My lovely boyfriend bought me Paper Towns by John Green which is a book I've wanted to read for so long so I shall get started on that soon, and I promise, this time I will genuinely post a review of it but I'll post it when I'm done reading at my own pace. Exams are starting to kick in. Boo.

I also got this :3 my grandma rocks!

I was also given the first three (if there's more of these let me know!) books of the Fallen series by Lauren Kate and I'm excited to read those after Paper Towns! I started reading the first chapter instead of doing my sport lesson (I don't do sport. End of.) and I was so entranced in it, I ignored my friends Rob and Tom, which is hard task!

Also yesterday, the movie for The Book Theif was released into cinemas! I've already told my friend Matheus that we will be seeing it next weekend and we're both equally excited!

That's all that really happened this week everybody :) hope you enjoyed, I will start reading Paper Towns tomorrow and post my review when I'm done :)

Thanks for sticking and reading!

First Weekly Post! {20.02.2014}

Hello guys! So here's the first weekly post! :D
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So first of all, one of my favourite discoveries is that the movie for The Book Thief (novel by Mark Zusak) is released the day of my 16th birthday! I'm so excited for this movie as I loved the book and I know I will definitely be taking my cling-cling Daisy with me! I even spotted this beauty at my local train station!
Speaking of my cling-cling Daisy, she is obsessed with the Divergent trilogy. I have been wanting to read these books for so long now but every time I go to buy them, my poor purse is empty and I really want to read the first one before the movie comes out, which is also why I am trying to refrain from watching the trailer until I've read it! Hopefully I'll get them for my birthday! Or the money for them at least! THEY LOOK AMAZING!!
Now I know this might be old news for you, but I still can not get over the trailer for The Fault in Our Stars. (I showed it to my mum and she started to cry after about 30 seconds!) It is without a doubt one of my favourite books and, from the trailer and what author John Green has said, it's looking very close and true to the book; which is great because one thing I hate more than anything is when Hollywood grabs one of your favourite books and turns the whole thing on its head and makes a completely different movie! I call this Hollywood-isation. But like I said, it looks amazing but I can't believe it's still 5-but almost 4-months away!
I re-read TFiOS recently and I got so into it that it became impossible to put down. One of my teachers was shocked to find it was book I was hiding under the desk and not my phone! I even cried during my English lesson and my teacher came over with tissues and asked if I was okay. I was not okay. I'll be posting a full review on Tuesday.
Well, sorry folks but that's it for this week! I hope you enjoyed this blog and want to stick around; share your thoughts in the comments and yeah!
Thank you for reading and see you next week!
